The Invasion
This is the 15th Track off of Trip Lee’s newest CD: “Between Two Worlds.” Any time I come across great music, I wanna share it with you guys. Several years ago, a buddy introduced me to these guys on Reach Records: Lecrae, Trip Lee and Tedashii. Since then I’ve been following these guys and I’ve been impressed for two reasons: their “talent” and their “treasure.”
First, their talent – I truly believe that these guys could be mainstream. They’d be on 96.1 if they wanted to because they’re that good. If you know anything about rap… these guys are really top notch. But more than that, I’m impressed with their treasure – these guys treasure Jesus. You can tell because every one of their songs is soaked in Jesus adoring lyrics. They always keep the Gospel of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins front and center. Their lyrics relect a depth that comes from having walked with Christ.
Last week we talked about “Treasuring Christ because trusting in Him is our ONLY source of confidence that we are at peace with God.” The chorus to this song reflects a heart that is treasuring Christ for exactly that reason. The words are:

I cant understand a thing they’re saying but from what I’ve herd of rap the pretty good and i like the picture.

Some other examples would be like Naturally 7, how they use there god giving beat boxing talents to rep Christ!!!!
