TELEIOS Summer Missions 2009
Praise God for the amazing trip that we were able to take to the Wade Center in West Virginia this Summer! We were in Bluefield from June 27th through July 3rd and got to experience the joy of responding to God’s call on our lives to live as Outwardly maturing Christ followers. Our days were full of loving kids, serving others, worshipping, playing, and growing in the Lord Jesus. It is our hope that those around us saw the Kingdom of God in our lives and got at least a glimpse of the amazing King that we serve!
Here are a few quotes from some of our youth who served in Bluefield:
- “I think I was changed in the area of humility. Seeing the way these kids lived and what they went through every day made me look at myself and my own attitude, and refocus myself on Jesus and how He would treat them.”
- “I will be more aware of people all around me that are hurting, and that I don’t have to go to any far off country to serve God, and help His people.”
- “I learned a lot about what it truly means to serve – that sometimes we won’t see the fruit of our actions right away or at all, and that the Lord is our ultimate reward.”
- “Just to be with God and talk to him… I feel like I know him better. I saw His heart for the impoverished. I will have a heart for the poor and know I am closer to Him.”
- “I got to meet a girl named Mary. Mary was really a God send because I got to show her the love that God was showing me.”
