Neglecting the God Breathed
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Bible lately. Pretty important stuff. I’m convinced that trying to have a healthy relationship with God while not reading His Word, is like trying to get in shape while never exercising. It’s just not gonna happen. Why? Because we’re desperately in need of God to reveal Himself to us. Thankfully, God has chosen specific ways to reveal Himself. One of the primary ways He has chosen is through His written Word to us!
Through His Word, God reveals to us who He IS. We see Who He is through His actions recorded throughout history… Through His descriptions of Himself as well as others’ inspired descriptions of Him… We see Who He is perfectly in Jesus… The Word is the place where we learn Who God is, what His will is, and what it means to have a relationship with Him!
So how come we neglect the Word of God so often? I think there’s a lot of reasons why. But I’m curious to know what you guys think…
Here are some questions to respond to:
(you can sign your name or just put initials, in which case, I will leave you entry anonymous)
1) What role does the Bible play in your life?
2) Do you consider the Bible trustworthy and true? Why or why not?
3) Do you spend regular “dates” with God where you spend time in His Word? If so, what does that look like for you (when/where/etc)?
4) How do you choose what to read?
5) What are the major challenges you face when reading the Word or setting aside time with God in the Word?
6) Are there some big questions you have about the Bible? If so, what are they?

I love this video… I think we can make one at youth that we can do better… of the bible in a minute… Harrison??
There are different ways I have chosen what to read. Sometimes, I will hear the Lord put a certain verse on my heart. Sometimes, I read through a certain book of the Bible, and other times I may have a devotional book that will list verses to read along with it. I am always amazed at how refreshed and encouraged I am from the WORD. It truly is living and active in our lives.
