Comunidad De Las Naciones (Community of Nations) is St. Giles’ latino church ministry. Planted in 2004, the church meets on the grounds of St. Giles at 10:30 on Sunday mornings and 6:30 on Wednesday evenings. We endeavor to worship in spirit and truth; our style of worship is the same as St. Giles. We place a strong emphasis on prayer and praying in the Spirit, believing that prayer is a two-way conversation and that we can hear from God just as He can hear from us. All services are conducted in Spanish with simultaneous translation into English as needed; the children’s ministry is in English. Our focus and desire is to be the dwelling place of God; with David we say “One thing have I desired of the Lord,” and that is to behold His beauty and to enquire in His temple. The Lord seeks fellowship with His people and everything we do is towards that end of knowing Him. God is moving in a new way in these days and desires for His body to be the full expression of Who He is.
Comunidad is made up of people from many different countries and cultures, but we are becoming one in Him as we move into the culture of the Kingdom of God. As John said, our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son. As we seek His face and press toward the mark of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, He draws us closer to one another and we are beginning to feel the unity that He desires us to have.
