A People at War

How can we set back the cause of Christ? Sometimes when we don’t live for Him, it is as if we are working for the enemy. Satan has his spies that look for our weaknesses and try to exploit them with temptations. What we do with those determines whether or not his attack is successful.

General Patton equipped his men with the arms and training to win a war. God has done the same for us. When we become followers of Christ, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, and empowered to live and accomplish the life plan that God has for us. In Matthew we are told that Jesus is given all authority in heaven and on earth, and He will always be with us!

Sunday night we looked at Romans Chapters 5 and 6 and found that we are indeed called to a life in Christ, and we have to put the old man, sinful desires, to death daily so we can live everyday for our Lord. We are in a war, and the stakes are very high, and eternal. We are on the winning side!

Your Turn:
Where do you see the war between your flesh and living for Christ?
How would our witness to the world be different if we took our new identities in Christ more seriously?

the place where i see war between my flesh and living for Christ is my mind. i’ve always struggled keeping my thoughts under control. the video was really relevant to me, because i don’t always try to fight thoughts, which is something i reallllly need to do. so, thank you for this.

    1. The warfor me would be trying not to fall into temptations. I try not to but someting just makes me do it. I never want to fall under satan’s temptations, but i do not know what makes me do it; i am trying to cut back though and trying to live like Jesus and i will in the future

    2. I think that we might get shuned from peole if we made our identities of christ more visible. I would care personally because I knw that only god can really judge me.
