40 Days

This week we embarked on a 40 day journey… 40 days of God’s Word – 1 chapter a day. At the end of this time we’ll have made our way through John’s Gospel, a few Psalms, Ephesians, and 1 Peter. More importantly, at the end of this 40 days, I believe that we’re going to see incredible growth and maturity as a followers of Jesus.
Paul, in 2 Timothy 3, assures us that the Word of God is the Complete Package… its able to lead us to the mature, Christ-consumed life that God desires for us. So that’s why we’re taking Paul’s advice that he gave to Timothy… “Continue on in the Word…” That is, cling to it. Love it. Know it. Eat it. Do it. Be consumed by it!

i think that this is encouraging my walk with Jesus because instead of just reading the Bible, and going on to something else, the questions help you think about what you just read, and it’s more likely to stick.
and one of the hard parts is making yourself spend that time, even if you don’t feel like it.

Well the coolest thing i have learned this past couple of days is that the Lord wants us to come and “knock on the door” he will always be standing ther waiting. Well for me really has been the time thing becuz im busy between school and work but i am managing to make time for it….and plus this is really encouraging me becuz it gives me the reason to spend the time with jesus(not tht i didnt want to it was jus thth i was busy)…….and it is helping me with showing god in my life more and i think we should do thid more often….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was Jesus’ first miracle, right? So I wonder why Mary thought that he could help them out at the wedding? Cool to think of why and what he might have been doing around the house–other miracles here and there maybe?

I really like it because instead of just reading the Bible, i’m READING the Bible and thinking about it. I like the questions in it, like how it applies to my life, instead of just looking at words then going back to watching tv.
I think that the hardest part is stopping what i’m doing and do it, but once I do I don’t regret it at all.

For me the hardest part has been being motivated to actually do the reading, but it’s really paid off so far, just with what I’ve found already, in the first four chapters, it’s got me really pumped for the forty days!

I’ve learned how amazing and cool God is and how great he really blesses me. it’s been great.
Taking the time to do it has been hard.
I feel closer with God and have a better relationship with him.

I have learned in the past few days in each chapter is that God IS present in everything that we do. In each chapter there is another story that i can see God weaved into! This has been so fulfilling for me.
It is so hard for me to make time but when I do it makes all the difference in my day just by reading that morning and asking Him to fill me with his spirit. I am more conscious of what I say and do and ask myself is this what I want to do to shine God’s light through me?
